Wyclef Jean Commands Attention in a Hand-Embroidered Okunoren Lineage Agbada

· By Fashion Tigress Team

Seeing Haitian musician Wyclef Jean step out in a traditional agbada wasn't on my bingo card, but given the massive global influence of Nigerian culture today, it feels right on time.

The outfit is a custom creation by Okunoren Lineage, a prominent Nigerian menswear brand directed by twin brothers Kehinde and Taiwo Okunoren, who have been at the forefront of African fashion for nearly 20 years.

Featuring heavy beading and intricate embroidery, the piece showcases the sheer elegance and opulence of the traditional Nigerian attire, proving once again why it remains one of the most regal traditional garments in African fashion.

Wyclef shared on Instagram that his decision to embrace the style was influenced by fellow artists Busta Rhymes and Tobe Nwigwe, further highlighting the cross-cultural exchange shaping modern global fashion.

After seeing @bustarhymes & @tobenwigwe music video to “Chineke“ , i had to switch up my fit.
