Another day, another proof that social media changes lives when used intentionally.
A few months ago, 22-year-old Rachel Ojuromi was just a young creative in Lagos with big dreams that felt a long way off. But she didn’t let limited resources or a lack of connections hold her back.
Use What You Have -–– No Matter How Little
Working with what she had—and with the help of her friends, stylist and designer Debby Fasingha and videographer Odey Ikpä—Recreating Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel Métiers d'Art collection, she used reworked thrift market finds across urban Lagos landmarks to achieve the looks. The internet took it from there. The video went viral, showcasing her talent to the world and putting her on the map.
And that was only the beginning.
Major publications like Elle, Vogue, and Interview came calling. Then came the ultimate milestone: an invitation directly from her dream fashion brand -– Chanel.

Her runway debut at the SS27 Chanel show—her first-ever catwalk show for any brand, local or international—is a powerful reminder that preparation meeting opportunity is everything. I don't think this is going to be Rachel's last show, because she is going to land other fashion campaigns.
Dream Big!!
Stop focusing on what you don't have. Work with what's in your hands, put yourself out there, and never discount the God factor."If your dreams don't make you feel a little delusional, WAKE UP.
Start daydreaming instead. Picture it clearly, then chase it, no matter how little you have."
Rachel is truly living her year of Big Energy, and I love it for her.
